राष्ट्रिय परिचयपत्रको अनलाईन आबेदन | Online Application for National ID

The government of Nepal has ramped up the distribution of National ID to the citizens of Nepal. I have made a short video to show you how you can apply for the National ID online.

Apply for National ID Online

It is fairly simple and I believe everything gets accurately entered when you type in the details by yourself online.

Because, currently, I have my incorrect family name on my Citizenship on Nagarik App.

They will mess up with wrong entries and you might have to pay for it. So, I’ll recommend you to fill out the application form by yourself and you’ll need to provide your fingerprints later on.

That can be a time saver too because you get to pick the time and date at the end of the application form, so you can go when the schedule works for you.

I’m still trying to get the wrong details fixed up in my citizenship on Nagarik App. Luckily, I don’t have that errors on the hard copy I have, so, no biggie.

However, if you don’t feel confident filling it up by yourselves, then you can always get it filled up when they bring the system to your local level government (to the wards of your municipalities).

They have planned to complete the national ID registration of all the citizens within six months.

My Personal Interest/selfishness

I’m always excited about these new regulations because, the government, banks, and every organization can have better reliability on the citizens of the nation.

Identity fraud can decrease and most importantly, banks may rely on us to provide the loans.

Here’s the link to the official government website: Department of National Id and Civil Registration (donidcr.gov.np)

Update – After you provide your biometrics

If you go to the district office to provide your biometrics details, you will get a form to sign which will also contain your National Identity Number (NIN).

A few days later you will receive a message that will tell you that your NIN application has been approved and it will also give you your NIN.

Later on, if you log in http://enrollment.donidcr.gov.np/ with your mobile number, you will see the “Biometric Captured” status.

I have put a screenshot of how it shows to me below.

However, now I can neither view nor edit the application.

Unfortunately, the villages where the government officials collect the biometrics are not synchronized with the internet so, it will not contain your NIN if you provide the biometrics from your ward office.

According to the officials, it can take up to 2-3 months to get the National Identity Number (probably in your inbox too). This most likely happens after they synchronize their software to the DoNIDCR server.
