Most of you might have tried to update the ROM of Xiaomi phones. And you might’ve encountered the problems to update the ROM. 
I’ve found the update failure issue in Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Right after downloading the update, if you press “Update”, the phone will restart in a while showing up a notification “Update failed, Try downloading full ROM”. It doesn’t matter how many times you try it, you will get the same notification if you will not follow the following steps:
- Download the ROM
- Tap Reboot Now
- Observe the screen closely
- As soon as the phone shuts down; press and hold “Power+Volume Up” key simultaneously
- Release the key as soon as the MI logo appears
- You will see your phone updating
The interval of phone restarting right after shut down is very small. So you should better be quick on that. Follow the above steps and enjoy the upgrade.
