Not just because it was a Shah Rukh starer movie but also because it was an Imtiaz Ali’s direction, I went to see it with my brother Nitesh and friend, Pravesh. I liked the movie, so did my friends. When I checked the Twitter to see the world’s review, I was surprised. Many of them had tweeted like, “The best part during the movie was the interval”, “I am trapped Sushma Swaraj watching #JHMS, rescue me!”, “I need my money back! #JHMS” etc.
I felt sorry for Shah Rukh as the distributors asked the money back. Listening to other’s review I didn’t think twice about if I really liked the movie or not. Because I’m honest talking about the movies. I thought for a while about why the movie really flopped that bad, why it did so terrible business in the industry! After my amateur analysis I figured out few things about the movie becoming unsuccessful:
- Most of the drama movie have done very poor business in the industry
- People of India like more actions, crime, fictional story,..
- Producers should have estimated very few budget for JHMS as it was a drama, romance
It was a good movie but also it flopped in the box office because a huge budget (110 cr.) was spent making the movie. In my view, the movie must have budget according to their genre.
